Excel 2013 Trace Precedents On Another Sheet Free
May 24, 2015 The only way to execute this code is including a button in the sheet linked to the macro so when you want to know the precedents/dependents of the cell, just place in the cell and press the button, right? Obviously with the sheet protected, you can´t access to the menu Formulas/Trace precedents/dependents, right? Thanks for your help!

- On the Excel tab, go to the Formulas tab and locate the Trace Precedents tool under the Formula Auditing section. Next, click the Trace Precedents button and wait for Excel to audit the cells. If a blue arrow appears, it indicates that there are no errors on the current Excel worksheet. Click “Trace Precedents” again to continue auditing.

When I view this tutorial page, I found the following:
Use Trace Precedents Choose a formula and click Trace Precedents. It is on the Formulas ribbon in Excel 2007 and the Tools - Formula Auditing menu in Excel 97-2003. Excel will draw blue arrows to show all the cells that flow into this cell.
The icon in the lower left means there were some off-sheet precedents. Double-click the dotted line to see the off-sheet precedents.
I clicked the dotted like to see the off-sheet precedents, and find it doesn't lead me directly to the cell, what's wrong with it?
