The new SHIELD controller can be used as a wired USB game controller with Windows 7, 8, and 10 PCs equipped with GeForce GPUs and GeForce Experience software.
Nvidia released new version of controller in 2017. It's smaller and lighter, has slide/touch volume control, physical NVIDIA home/back/start buttons and IR blaster. Oct 27, 2017 The way our driver works is it gets the appid from the mini driver, tries to match it to a app package from amazon app store to get the actual app name. Then it does a table lookup on that app name to get the android app URL (using either the amazon app store table or the Google play tables bases on the app type property setting on the driver).
Steps to enable:
1) Update the firmware on the controller to v1.0 or later. This must be done on a SHIELD device.
2) Unpair the controller from SHIELD and then plug it into your PC.
3) Make sure you are using the latest version of GeForce Experience software.
SHIELD controller (2015) can also be used as a wired USB game controller with GeForce-equipped PCs running GeForce Experience software.

Before attempting to flash a recovery image, you must have the lastest fastboot executable from the Android SDK (available here under the 'Get just the command line tools' heading) installed on the host machine.
To enter fastboot
mode on the SHIELD TV (2017 edition), follow the instructions in the 'How To Flash' section of the latest open source README (for example, the 5.0.0 README linked above or here).
